Buying an electronic cigarette can be a confusing. Questions like “Which Electronic Cigarette option is best for me?, What flavor should choose?, Which nicotine strength is right for me?" can make the process seem like a real hassle. If you are reading this and nodding your head in agreement, read on. In the following paragraphs, we have tried to answer all of the basic questions about the different choices you have when making your initial electronic cigarette purchase. For information about how the product works and other general questions, please take a gander at our general FAQ. What is the difference between the 2 piece unit and the 3 piece unit? There are 2 basic types of units available, the 2 piece unit (Cartomizer), and the 3 piece unit. The function is basically the same. In both, as you draw on the unit, the airflow triggers the power, the tip lights up, the atomizer (heating element) heats up the stored ecigarette Smoke Juice and converts it to clouds of delicious vapor. The difference is as follows: While the 3 piece unit consists of a battery, an atomizer, and a plastic Smoke Juice cartridge, the two piece unit combines the Smoke Juice cartridge and the atomizer into one disposable Cartomizer. What are the advantages of each type of unit and, if I choose one, do I need to purchase a whole new kit if I want to try the other? I will answer the 2nd question first. You do not need to purchase a whole new kit if you want to try different types of refills. All of our products are compatible with one another. The 2 piece Electronic Cigarette uses the same battery as the 3 piece. The only difference is the refills included with the kit. Now to the other question, The cartomizer has several advantages. It only has 2 parts (charged battery, cartomizer) so it is more convenient. It holds 3 times the Smoke Juice of a standard cartridge and lasts 3 times as long (about a pack of cigarettes worth) so less hassle. Also, satisfied customers report that it performs more consistently and produces a better vapor. So then, why would I choose the 3 piece Electronic Cigarette option? The bottom line is that the 3 piece option does perform very well and is used by a significant percentage of our customers. Our bottled Smoke Juice (used to refill spent cartridges) can only be used with the 3 Piece system. 1 bottle of Smoke Juice ($19.95) can be used to refill up to 90 cartridges (comparable to 450 cigarettes, a month supply!). Many of our customers’ appreciate this option since it can save them money over purchasing the more-convenient prefilled cartridges. Because each of our refill options produce different amounts of vapor, to keep things simple, I have done the math for you, but feel free to do it yourself if you like. I have converted the numbers to reflect the differences in cost as compared to real cigarettes in NY (now approximately $12.00). 1) 1 Pack of real cigarettes: $12.00 2) Standard Smoke Juice cartridges: $2.70 (3 Standard Cartridges*) 3) Smoke Juice cartomizers: $2.50 (1 cartomizer) 4) EXTENDED Smoke Juice cartridges: $2.00 (1.5 EXTENDED cartridges*) 5) Bottled Smoke Juice (to refill cartridges): $0.66 (1ml Smoke Juice) *When purchasing a carton. Which nicotine strength is best for me (High, Medium, Low, Zero)? The Different smokers rely on their cigarettes for different reasons. For some, it is more about the nicotine addiction. For others, it is about relaxation and stress relief. And others only smoke occasionally while socializing (the elusive casual smoker). Because of the varied approaches to smoking, no one answer will fit across the board. We have found that in general, people who smoke a ½ a pack a day or more of a “light” cigarette or stronger usually prefer to start with the High strength. Those who smoke less than that or smoke “Ultra Light” cigarettes are recommended to start with the medium strength. Once you have used the product, and are more aware of how the nicotine is affecting you (as compared to regular cigarettes), you may decide to go up or down on the nicotine strength. I believe I have covered all the basics. If you have any further questions, please send us a message, or call us at 1-888-236-3253. We will be glad to address any questions or concerns. |
